How To Shop At CDNow

Shopping at CDNow is as easy as shopping at Amazon.com.

To purchase a CD or other item from CDNow that you find through links from our web site, click on the price of the item on the product web page. (You can also click on the nearby "Add to Cart" link.) This places the item into your Shopping Cart and takes you to the Shopping Cart page. From there, you can place your order or you can continue shopping. You can check your Shopping Cart's contents any time you wish by clicking on the "Shopping Cart" link on any CDNow page, and you can remove items at any time before placing your order.

To place an order, you must be logged into your CDNow account, which you can access from the Shopping Cart page. If you do not have an account, click the "Create Account" button. You may switch to Secure Mode before creating your account by clicking on the "Switch to Secure Mode" link at the top of the account creation page.

Please note that you may switch back and forth between Secure Mode and Regular Mode any time you are on the Shopping Cart page. You will know you are in Secure Mode by the lock icon on the web page. Your browser will also have a special icon at the bottom that indicates you are on a secure server. For both Netscape and Internet Explorer, this icon is a closed lock. You will also know you are in Secure Mode by the change in URL which will begin with "https" rather than "http." To return to Regular Mode, click on the "Switch to Regular Mode" link.

Secure Mode is best for placing an order, creating an account or updating your account information. For maximum security, switch to Secure Mode at some point before you start to finalize your order.

After you log in or create an account, review your choices, select your shipping and payment methods, read over the Important Order Information and click the "Place Order" button near the bottom of the page. All available shipping options and charges will be displayed in your Shopping Cart before you place your order.

Once you begin to finalize your order, the CDNow purchasing software takes over and from this point forward, you will get complete customer service directly from them. For more information about shopping at CDNow, click the "Help" tab on any CDNow page and you will be taken to their Help Desk page where you can get all your questions answered by following the appropriate links. Topics covered include payment and shipping options, placing an order, ways in which your credit card information is protected, and the CDNow privacy policy.

If you are new to CDNow and online shopping, we recommend you click on the "first time visitors" and "placing an order" links.
